Banh Mi is a classic Vietnamese sandwich that typically features a crispy French baguette, marinated vegetables, your choice of local meat and cilantro. It’s the ideal sandwich for a lunch-to-go and simply delicious with Saigon Gourmet’s Lemongrass sauce.

  1. Marinate the chicken in the lemongrass sauce for 15 minutes.
  2. Sear the chicken in a skillet over medium heat for 12-15 minutes.
  3. Slice the chicken into strips.
  4. Cut open each baguette half and top with mayonnaise, carrots and cucumber slices.
  5. Add the cooked chicken strips and fresh cilantro.
  6. Top with peppers. Add salt and pepper to taste.

To add variety to your cooking, replace the chicken with your choice of protein: lemongrass-marinated tofu for a vegetarian option or thin slices of lemongrass-marinated beef. For pork lovers, try our Nem Nuong Banh Mi recipe.
